Company Overview
Seeberger Naturstein GmbH, founded in 1956 and based in Wallerstein, Germany, specializes in natural stone processing with a focus on gardening and landscaping applications. The company is driven by a long-standing interest in combining craftsmanship with technical development.
In 2007, Seeberger acquired Dünnsteintechnik, a thin-stone technology that was further developed into a reliable and repeatable production method. Continuous investment in new processes and equipment has allowed the company to extend its reach beyond local markets and serve projects internationally. Today, Seeberger combines traditional masonry expertise with modern production technologies.
Challenges: Gaining greater control over precision and production flexibility
Accuracy, precision, and flexibility in material types and dimensions are critical requirements in masonry and architectural stone applications. According to Stefan Seeberger, managing these variables internally is essential to maintaining quality standards and meeting customer specifications.
Previously, certain cutting processes were outsourced to other masonry workshops in the Wallerstein area. While this approach provided additional capacity, it also introduced dependencies in lead times, quality consistency, and process control. As project opportunities increased and evolved into confirmed orders, the need for greater control became more evident.
To address this, Stefan evaluated multiple solutions by attending trade shows and comparing available technologies. Key decision criteria included cutting precision, versatility across materials, ease of operation, and the level of technical support provided. Service reliability and long-term partnership potential also played an important role in the selection process.
Solution: Integrating Waterjet technology for versatile and efficient in-house production
The installation of the MAXIEM 2040X waterjet system at Seeberger was supported closely by Innomax, the authorized OMAX partner in Germany. Structured implementation and training ensured that the system could be integrated into daily operations without disruption.
Following installation, Seeberger began processing orders for a broader range of applications, including interior and exterior elements in shipbuilding and architectural projects. Patrick Rühl, Operations Manager for the OMAX system, shares that the machine delivers consistent accuracy and meets the expected production standards.
An advantage is the underwater cutting capability, which significantly reduces noise levels. This allows operators to maintain conversations on the shop floor, contributing to a more manageable and comfortable working environment.
The system handles a wide range of materials, including glass, titanium, ceramic, natural stone, and metals. This capability supports diverse customer requirements while maintaining precision across different material properties. As a result, Seeberger has been able to reduce outsourcing, shorten lead times, and improve responsiveness to project-specific needs.
The team at Seeberger reports high confidence in the OMAX system, citing its reliability, adaptability, and alignment with their production goals.
