Stone

OMAX® JetMachining® Centers can also be used to create designs from stone such as marble and granite. This can be done faster, and with a greater level of detail than traditional methods of working with these materials.

Stone is difficult to machine conventionally, but very intricate shapes can be cut with a precision abrasivejet using low-pressure pierce capability. Many machine shops purchase an abrasivejet system for producing engineered components and then find that they can also create a good market in relatively expensive custom stone and marble applications such as inlaid flooring. Other shops purchase OMAX machines for the specific purpose of cutting stone.
