  • OMAX first introduced a JetMachining Center Model 2448 specifically for the general machine shop environment
  • OMAX led the industry by developing the first PC Controller specifically for abrasivejet machining with built-in abrasivejet expert system
  • OMAX Model 2652 introduced

  • Patent granted for Machine Tool Apparatus and Linear Motion for the Machine Tool: 5,472,367
1996
  • Patent granted for Motion Control with Precomputation: 5,508,596
  • OMAX developed their technical support "Hot Line" technical support center

  • OMAX celebrates 10-year anniversary in February

2004 - 2005

  • OMAX introduces the JetMachining Center Model 2626|xp "extreme precision" machining center
  • OMAX introduces the 3055V Direct Pump for the 2626|xp
  • Patent granted for Automated Fluid-Jet Tilt Compensation for Lag and Taper #6,922,605 B1
  • OMAX installed its 1000th machine
  • OMAX awarded the Frost and Sullivan Product Value Differentiation Award
  • OMAX awarded an NSF SBIR Phase I grant for developing a flash abrasive-waterjet for mitigating piercing damage to delicate materials

2006

  • OMAX introduced the Terrain Follower Accessory
  • OMAX FABRICATOR JetCutting Center introduced
  • OMAX received two SBIR/STTR Phase I awards from the Department of Energy and the Department of Defense for developing low-cost waterjet precision machining of hydrogen production components and advanced ceramic matrix composites
  • OMAX awarded an NSF SBIR Phase II grant for developing a prototype of the flash abrasive-waterjet (FAWJ - Patent Pending) for mitigating piercing damage
2007

2008

  • OMAX JetMachining Center Model 80X and 80X-1 Intelli-TRAX™ introduced
  • Dual Pump Package with redundant 30 hp or 40 hp option introduced
  • OMAX Rotary Axis introduced
  • Generation 3 software upgrade released
